Senior Principal System Software Architect (embedded systems/ software-defined vehicle) (f/m/div)

In this role you will shape the reference architecture and embedded software strategy for automotive Body SoCs, enabling software-defined vehicles for OEMs and Tier 1s. You will partner across product lines to align architecture visions and roadmaps, driving safe and cybersecure in-vehicle software with modern patterns such as microservices and event-driven architectures. You’ll lead cross-functional teams to deliver on ambitious timelines and mentor engineers while staying ahead of industry trends. This position offers the chance to influence next-generation automotive software at a global semiconductor leader.

• Lead the SDV reference architecture and embedded software strategy for Body SoCs
• Define architecture vision, standards, and roadmaps across embedded platforms (peripheral drivers to application layer)
• Create clear architectures and high-quality specifications; drive cross-functional delivery under tight timelines
• Promote safety and cybersecurity by design (ISO 26262, ISO 21434) and in-vehicle compute patterns
• Lead PoCs and reference designs with OEM/Tier 1 architects; guide DevOps/CI/CD and AI best practices for embedded software
• Mentor architects, engineers, and software developers; foster knowledge sharing and skill development
• Conduct market and competitor analysis to stay aligned with industry trends
• Engage with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to tailor software solutions and ensure alignment

• Ability to define clear architectures, write high-quality specs, and lead cross-functional delivery under ambitious timelines
• Knowledge in AI (generative/agentic) for embedded software and Edge AI
• Experience in semiconductors and embedded software, MCUs, processors, and SoCs (ARM, RISCV)
• Experience with embedded software architecture and hardware/software co-design for MCUs
• Experience in automotive software engineering standards and practices; agile development; ASPICE is a plus
• Expertise in network and diagnosis (Ethernet/10BaseT1S/TSN, RCP, CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, SPI, SOME/IP, UDS/DoIP, E2E protection)
• Knowledge in safety and cybersecurity by design (ISO 26262, ISO 21434)
• Fluency in embedded programming and modeling (embedded C/RUST, UML/SysML)
• Experience with open-source tools and toolchains (Jama is a plus)
• Familiarity with agile, DevOps, and CI/CD
• Excellent stakeholder management across hardware, software, safety, and supplier ecosystems
• Background in Automotive OEM or Tier1 with responsibility in software strategy and system architecture
• Software architecture ownership driving cross-functional roadmap execution
• Experience with AI in embedded software development
• Networking knowledge (Ethernet, CAN, LIN, SPI)
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field
