Project Controller, FP&A Specialist

Responsibilities

• Managing and analyzing the financial performance of national and international solar tracker projects across the entire project lifecycle
• Preparing and enhancing project and management reports, KPI dashboards, and regular actual-vs.-budget comparisons for management and project teams
• Monitoring project budgets, cost developments, forecasts and margins — ensuring ongoing financial transparency
• Identifying and assessing variances, risks and opportunities, and deriving concrete actions together with the relevant departments
• Supporting budget and forecast processes in close coordination with project management, supply chain, procurement and sales
• Preparing and evaluating business cases, profitability analyses and financial models for projects, proposals and new business opportunities
• Occasional handling of classic corporate controlling tasks (e.g., participation in month-end and quarter-end closings, cross-sectional analyses) — in our team we pitch in beyond our core area of responsibility
• Further developing controlling and reporting processes and helping shape efficient management tools in the project environment

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a comparable commercial qualification; further training in controlling preferred (e.g., IHK Controller)
• Several years' professional experience in controlling, ideally in project or FP&A environments of project-driven industrial or technology companies
• Practical experience in the financial management of projects: budget planning, forecasting, actual-vs.-budget and variance analyses; experience in classic corporate controlling (e.g., financial closings) is an advantage
• Confident use of ERP, BI and controlling tools for independent KPI preparation, analysis and report creation
• Excellent skills in analyzing financial metrics and trends, with the ability to separate data from interpretation and to derive required actions
• Experience in cross-functional coordination with internal project teams
• Excellent written and spoken German and English for collaboration in international project and finance teams
• Structured, prioritizing and results-oriented working style with the ability to reliably manage multiple topics in parallel
• Decisiveness within own area of responsibility, and high reliability and integrity when handling sensitive financial and project data
