We invite you to investigate how challenge-based university education can become a starting point for innovation, entrepreneurship, and venture creation. You will study the effect of AI-supported tools that help students and PhDs validate ideas and prepare for start-up creation, and pursue a PhD within an international European university consortium at the intersection of entrepreneurship education, AI-supported workflows, and venture development. This position combines scientific research with project work in the ECIU E-Campus project, an initiative of the ECIU University alliance.

One focus of the project is the development and evaluation of AI-supported validation workflows. These tools will support students, lecturers, coaches, and entrepreneurship support units in guiding promising teams from early ideation toward structured pre-incubation. The project provides a foundation for pursuing a PhD in the field of entrepreneurship education, AI-based tools, and venture creation.

YOUR TASKS

• Contribute to an international project that develops an alliance-wide pathway from challenge-based learning and early idea validation toward pre-incubation and venture readiness.
• Support the design, testing, and implementation of AI-supported workflows for student teams, lecturers, coaches, and entrepreneurship support units.
• Conduct empirical research and present and publish results at international conferences and in academic journals.

YOUR PROFILE

• Completed university studies (master’s degree or equivalent), in particular in Business Administration, preferably with a specialization in Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or Learning Sciences (minimum grade of 2.5 according to German grading system).
• Experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, or digital tools is encouraged.

Desired knowledge and personal skills

• Strong intention in pursuing a PhD.
• Knowledge of empirical research methods and data analysis.
• Interdisciplinary and international collaboration experience.
• Practical experience in innovation management, entrepreneurship, venture development, or start-up support.
• Interest in AI-supported tools and digital workflows.
• Excellent English language skills, written and spoken.
