SAP Controlling (CO) Application Expert

• Minimum 5 years' experience as an SAP Functional Consultant with a strong focus on SAP Controlling (CO).
• Deep functional expertise across SAP CO, including areas such as:
• Internal Orders
• Product Costing (PC)
• Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
• Margin Analysis
• Planning, allocations and period-end processes
• Good working knowledge of SAP FI, with an understanding of the integration between FI and CO.
• Strong experience configuring and customising SAP CO, including documentation of functional specifications and solution design.
• Experience working with integrated business processes across SAP MM and SD.
• Experience working with ABAP developers, including debugging and supporting the development of enhancements.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience coordinating third-party vendors and external support partners.
• SAP certification in SAP CO and/or SAP FI.
• Experience with SAP Activate or other recognised project delivery methodologies.
• Previous experience leading workstreams or managing SAP sub-projects.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling.
• Knowledge of financial close processes and support for month-end, quarter-end and year-end activities.
• Basic ABAP programming knowledge beyond debugging.
• Fluent English and German language skills (German B2 or above).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Controlling (CO) Functional Consultant to support, enhance and optimise our SAP Finance and Controlling landscape, with a primary focus on SAP CO. Working closely with Finance, Controlling, IT and business stakeholders, you will lead the analysis, design and implementation of business solutions across Controlling processes while ensuring seamless integration with SAP FI and adjacent modules such as MM and SD.

The role combines functional consultancy, solution design, configuration, business partnering and support, offering the opportunity to drive continuous improvement across the SAP landscape while contributing to projects and business transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and continuously improve SAP Controlling solutions across the organisation.
• Analyse business requirements and design SAP CO solutions that support finance and controlling processes.
• Configure and customise SAP CO functionality, ensuring high-quality documentation and adherence to best practices.
• Work closely with Finance, Controlling and IT stakeholders to deliver effective business solutions.
• Collaborate with ABAP developers on enhancements, interfaces and complex developments.
• Ensure seamless integration between SAP CO, SAP FI, MM and SD.
• Coordinate external service providers and monitor delivery against agreed objectives.
• Support budgeting, planning and controlling processes within the SAP environment.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial processes.
• Lead or support SAP projects and continuous improvement initiatives, taking ownership of defined functional areas or workstreams.
• Produce functional specifications, process documentation and user guidance.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support, resolving complex issues and driving root cause analysis.
• Deliver knowledge transfer and training to users and colleagues, promoting best practice across the business.
