SAP S/4HANA Controlling IT Subject Matter Expert

We are looking for a SAP S/4HANA Controlling Lead. Remote with some travel to Berlin, Stockholm, and Amsterdam. 6‑month contract with possible extension to 1‑2 years. EU nationals (Dutch or German) required. Languages: Dutch or German and English.

Program Structure

• Wave 1 live; Wave 2 in realization, target go‑live January 2027.
• Wave 3 Fit‑to‑Template workshops started, target go‑live January 2028.

Responsibilities

• Margin Analysis
  • Design new business requirements by performing fit/gap analysis of current architecture and SAP standard.
• Overhead Accounting
• Universal Allocation
  • Identify gaps to be covered by UA in alignment with PPM solution.
  • Guide the business to an efficient future solution based on current architecture and SAP best practices.
• Cost Allocation
  • Guide the business in a new cost allocation model; strong knowledge required.
• Act as a subject matter expert in SAP FI‑CO and guide design of future‑proof solutions leveraging standard S/4HANA capabilities.
• Provide direction to the implementation team and ensure business alignment.

Project Context

Client runs a multi‑year S/4HANA program across 150 legal entities in 6 EMEA countries. The goal is to harmonize and standardize finance processes across the Nordics, Netherlands, and Germany, replacing fragmented ECC systems.

Team

You will join the Controlling core team within the S/4HANA program and work closely with the Finance business lead, IT lead, business consultants, and key stakeholders of the business unit.

Qualifications

• Strong consulting background with at least 3 full‑cycle S/4HANA implementations.
• Deep SAP Controlling knowledge (Margin Analysis, Overhead, PS/PPM, revenue recognition).
• Ability to architect and drive end‑to‑end Controlling solutions in S/4HANA.
• Solid understanding of integration with related modules and business processes.
• Self‑starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to drive topics independently.
• Experience in SAP Activate project environments.
• SAP S/4HANA Finance certification preferred.
• Dutch or German language skills a strong plus.
