Security DevOps Expert - Sovereign Cloud (m/f/d)

As Security DevOps Expert, you will help build and secure a globally distributed Sovereign Cloud, focusing on non-production security infrastructure lifecycle. You will collaborate with infrastructure and product experts to standardize security processes and tooling, balancing risk with efficient deployment. Your work will shape security concepts for large-scale cloud management and coordinate with hyperscaler partners and global operations. This is a founding role that enables SAP to advance secure cloud readiness for Sovereign Cloud-ready SAP products.

• Lead secure deployment, upgrade, and lifecycle management of Sovereign Cloud non-production security infrastructure
• Develop and automate security solutions aligned with security strategy
• Keep knowledge base current on hyperscaler capabilities and modern infrastructure tools
• Design security concepts for global-scale infrastructure management
• Coordinate with global Sovereign Cloud operations teams and hyperscaler partners
• Contribute to open source security projects and engage with the security community
• Provision and support security cloud services through Terraform
• Produce documentation for processes and procedures
• Lead in cross-architecture teams and influence without formal authority
• Deliver security solutions within challenging timelines

• 7+ years in software development or related security/infra roles
• Experience deploying infrastructure at global scale
• Strong mix of full-stack development and infrastructure development
• In-depth knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, storage, monitoring, IAM, etc., with orchestration for cloud solutions
• Proficiency in OS administration and security engineering
• Working knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD tools, and GIT
• Familiarity with Kubernetes
• Experience with securing products on AWS/Azure/GCP; sovereign cloud exposure is a plus
• Understanding of NIST, ISO or similar compliance frameworks
• Ability to manage ambiguities, think strategically, and communicate effectively
• Willingness to contribute to Open Source security projects
• Strong interpersonal, intercultural, and stakeholder relationship-building skills
