Senior Construction Manager - Onshore Wind

Location: Flexible across Hesse

The Opportunity:

Our client is a dynamic, fast-growing German renewable energy developer backed by a leading infrastructure fund. With a heavily capitalized and expanding pipeline of large-scale renewable energy assets across Germany, they are entering a major construction phase.

To support this growth, they are looking for a highly capable Senior Construction Engineer to take the lead on project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the construction phase of utility-scale renewable energy projects from financial close through to successful commissioning.
• Take complete ownership of negotiating and structuring all commercial contracts with wind turbine/solar manufacturers, EPC contractors, sub-contractors, and third-party suppliers.
• Act as the core technical and commercial link between the internal teams, in Germany and internationally, ensuring transparent reporting on project milestones, budgets, and timelines.
• Manage on-site construction activities, ensuring all works comply with German building regulations, HSE standards, and quality requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for potential delays or budgetary overruns during the construction phase.
• Oversee claims management and resolve any technical or contractual disputes with suppliers and contractors on-site.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in construction management (Bauingenieurwesen / Bauleitung) or project management, within the utility-scale renewable energy sector (Wind or Solar PV).
• Strong track record in contract negotiation and managing relationships with OEM manufacturers and EPC suppliers.
• Flexible and willing to travel to project sites.
• Excellent commercial acumen, you understand the financial impact of technical decisions on-site.
• Fluent German (written and spoken) and Fluent English.
• Ideally a Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable technical/commercial background, though not strictly required.
