The Opportunity
As Associate Director, Consolidation and Reporting, you will take end-to-end ownership of the group consolidation and external/internal reporting processes. You will lead a specialised team responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful consolidated financial information, while driving continuous improvement in processes, systems, and controls.
This is a highly visible role with close interaction with senior finance leadership, business controllers, and external auditors. You will play a key part in elevating the quality, efficiency, and strategic value of the organisation’s financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full group consolidation process, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of consolidated financial statements under IFRS.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting cycles, driving discipline, quality, and continuous reduction of the close timeline.
- Oversee intercompany processes, eliminations, and reconciliations across a multi-entity, multi-country environment.
- Ensure the integrity and consistency of both external reporting and internal management reporting packages.
- Lead and develop a team of consolidation and reporting professionals, building technical depth, ownership, and high performance.
- Drive process optimisation and system enhancements within consolidation and reporting (including ERP and dedicated consolidation/reporting tools).
- Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors and internal stakeholders on all consolidation and reporting matters.
- Strengthen governance, internal controls, and documentation around the consolidation and reporting processes.
- Partner closely with Group Controlling, FP&A, and local finance teams to ensure alignment and high-quality data flows.
- Contribute to broader finance transformation initiatives and the evolution of the Group Finance operating model.
Candidate Profile
- Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in financial consolidation and group reporting within complex, multi-entity organisations.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and practical experience in preparing consolidated financial statements.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a specialised technical team.
- Hands-on experience with consolidation and reporting systems (e.g. SAP, OneStream, Hyperion, Tagetik or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of intercompany processes, eliminations, and multi-currency environments.
- Strong analytical mindset combined with a process improvement orientation and attention to detail.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is a strong advantage.
