Senior Financial Manager IT Projects & Business Cases (m/f/d) at Allianz SE

Who will you join?

The department is responsible for shaping and driving the Group IT Strategy, overseeing the Group IT Committee (ITCo), and orchestrating global IT transformation initiatives.

As the Senior Expert for IT Financial Management, Business Cases & Project Governance (m/f/d), you are the key expert for IT financial management, business case methodology, and benefit transparency across IT project investments. In this role, you ensure the consistent application of standards and provide high-quality financial decision support, particularly for the ITCo.

How can you make an impact?

You will:

• Define and maintain Group IT guidelines and templates for financial governance and business case/benefits reporting related to IT projects
• Ensure consistency of IT Project related financial KPIs across H-Divisions and IT initiatives
• Support the ITCo governance process, including preparation and review of decision materials
• Review and analyze IT business cases and expected benefits throughout their lifecycle
• Develop and improve business case methodologies, templates, and application standards
• Act as the subject matter expert for Economic Benefit Factor (EBF, including the phased approach for longer-term projects)
• Manage closed project benefit tracking, including reporting and variance analysis

Minimum Qualifications

• Several years of experience in financial governance, controlling, IT finance, or business case management
• Strong expertise in investment evaluation, cash flow modeling, and KPI-based steering
• Proven experience in senior stakeholder and governance environments
• Strong analytical mindset, delivering high-quality and impactful results
• Strategic thinking with the ability to identify and leverage cross-functional connections and dependencies
• Ability to independently structure, challenge, and validate complex financial topics
• Experience working across multiple stakeholders and functions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
• University degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in IT financial steering, consulting, or project portfolio environments
• Knowledge of EBF (Economic Benefit Factor), ROI, and value-based investment frameworks
• Experience with business case or planning tools (H4 WAVE, SAP IP, or similar)
• Advanced Excel and strong data affinity
• Structured and proactive working style
• Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
• Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
