Overview

You will act as a senior technical expert for Agilent’s detector portfolio, guiding system-level improvements and resolving complex issues. The role combines hands-on lab work with cross-functional collaboration to ensure product quality and reliability across released instruments. You’ll investigate root causes, manage sustaining activities, and drive portfolio optimization. This position offers the chance to shape precision analytical systems and contribute to customer success within R&D and manufacturing ecosystems.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Serve as the technical expert for the detector portfolio and address complex questions
Own sustaining activities for released products, including escalations, verification, obsolescence management, and improvements
Investigate challenging issues via experimentation, data analysis, and root-cause analysis
Drive cross-functional resolution spanning optics, electronics, firmware, mechanics, manufacturing, and applications
Support supplier transitions, component substitutions, and manufacturing improvements
Preserve and transfer critical technical knowledge across products
Represent R&D in senior technical reviews and management forums

Zentrale Anforderungen

Master's degree or PhD in Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field with 4+ years of industrial experience
Deep expertise in optics, fluidics, precision mechanics, motion systems, thermal management, electronics, signal processing, or analytical instrumentation
Strong systems-thinking and ability to work across multiple technical disciplines
Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues via experimentation, measurement, data analysis, and root cause analysis
Experience supporting released products, sustaining engineering, technical escalations, or product lifecycle activities
Professional proficiency in English and German
Willingness to travel occasionally to customer, supplier, and manufacturing sites
