(Senior) Systems Safety Engineer - Air

As a Senior Systems Safety Engineer at Helsing, you apply a comprehensive system safety approach to a defined program and help refine safety processes across our portfolio. You ensure robust integration of safety practices through the design and development lifecycle, collaborating with both development and delivery teams to meet required safety standards. You will work with established safety methods and contribute to safety program planning and governance. • Conduct safety assessments (AFHA/SFHA, PASA/PSSA, ASA/SSA, PRA) per ARP4761A
• Perform hazard analyses and system/subsystem/component risk assessments in line with MIL-STD-882
• Develop and manage system safety requirements with traceability across design and development
• Contribute to System Safety Program Plan creation/maintenance per MIL-STD-882 and ARP4754B
• Present safety cases to stakeholders and influence decision-making
• Support safety audits to verify compliance with objectives and regulations

• Knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and ARP4761A
• Familiar with systems engineering best practices (requirements development, management, traceability, verification, validation)
• Proficiency with safety analysis tools (FMEA, FTA)
• Experience with requirement management tools (Jama Software, IBM DOORS)
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
• Excellent communication to explain safety concepts to non-experts
• MBSE experience is a plus
