Overview

As the regional trade compliance expert for EU/UK/CH, you manage import/export compliance, licensing, classifications, and sanctions, collaborating with brokers and authorities. You will monitor regulatory changes, develop controls, and support audits while ensuring seamless cross-border operations. Your work strengthens compliance across trade flows and supports strategic sourcing and product classification. This role offers impact across a high-regulation environment in the SME sector with a focus on global trade integrity.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Serve as the primary Trade Compliance point of contact for EU, UK, and Switzerland import/export activities
Ensure compliance with EU, UK, Swiss, German, and applicable international trade regulations
Provide trade compliance guidance to internal stakeholders and support operations to resolve regulatory issues
Maintain relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, authorities, and partners
Support customs audits, inquiries, and regulatory reviews
Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary controls
Develop and maintain trade compliance procedures and internal controls
Determine and maintain HTS/TARIC/Swiss Customs Tariff classifications and ECCNs for SME industry products
Research rulings and guidance to support classifications
Resolve Oracle OTM/GTM trade compliance holds related to classifications and licensing data
Manage EU, UK, German, and Swiss export licenses and authorizations
Administer BAFA export control requirements and portal activities
Document compliance determinations and maintain auditable records
Own and support Intrastat reporting activities and audits
Monitor sanctions and restricted party screening and maintain supporting documentation
Advise stakeholders on sourcing decisions, STE/TAG assessments, and export controls
Conduct trade compliance risk assessments and implement corrective actions

Zentrale Anforderungen

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
2+ years in multinational Trade Compliance environment or related experience
Strong English and German communication skills
Experience determining EU/UK/Swiss HTS/TARIC classifications and export control classifications
Knowledge of EU/UK/Swiss/German import and BAFA export control regulations and licensing processes
Experience using trade automation systems (Oracle OTM/GTM, SAP GTS, Descartes, GTC)
Experience with customs brokers and EU customs operations
Experience managing denied party screening and sanctions reviews
Experience supporting Intrastat reporting
Strong analytical skills and Excel proficiency
