Site Process Expert, EUSC Process Excellence, EUSC Process Excellence, EUSC Process Excellence

Stellenbeschreibung:

Overview

Amazon is seeking a number of Site Process Experts to work in the EU Process Excellence (EUSC PE) team. The Site Process Expert is a field onsite position and will need to adapt to local shift requirements depending on operations needs. The role will be based in one of our Sortation Centres (SC) across the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy and France.

The EU PE team is a group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization and continuous improvement for the EU SC network. The team is essential to establish best‑in‑class process performance across all direct and indirect processes, accelerate implementation of technological advancements and strengthen the technical acumen and process knowledge of operational leaders across the SC network. EU PE ensures that operations teams are equipped with the functional expertise to deliver expected gains for technology advances and network‑wide process improvements.

The team drives process control and shifting mean performance, minimizing variation between shifts, building and region to deliver strong performance. The team works closely with Core Process Experts (CPE), Change Managers (CM), Operations, Ops Excellence, Program teams, Engineering and Reliability & Maintenance (RME) teams to improve input metrics for each process path by prioritizing and channeling resources.

The Site Process Expert works alongside the SC Senior Leadership Team, maintaining high collaboration with EU PE functions. This role is responsible for deploying initiatives, building network relationships within the SC, and driving compliance for initiatives within an assigned timeline. It initiates and implements EU‑wide improvement activities, demonstrating ownership, understanding of details, and influence to deliver tangible productivity and efficiency gains in the SC.

As part of this role, you will gain insights on Lean Six‑Sigma tools and techniques and embark on a path of learning process improvement practices that will allow you to graduate as Green/Yellow Belt with this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work on Back to Basics (B2B) initiatives, identifying top opportunities in the SC compared with other EU SCs. Focus on bottom 50% processes, targeting input metrics with the largest gap to benchmark, and implement improvement action plans in close collaboration with local Operations Management following standard improvement templates.
  • Oversee the SC improvement program and focus on the most important areas aligned with the SC Senior Leadership team.
  • Dive deep into process performance using available standard reporting or create own data analysis, call out insights in daily dive‑deep meetings, and convert information into a tangible improvement plan that matters to the SC.
  • Review open action plans weekly, engaging SC stakeholders to complete suggested actions and reach desired targets.
  • Collaborate with CPE functions, CM and other Site PEs from the same region to clarify any process‑related doubts, leveraging their expertise. Benchmarking initiatives are highly recommended to further reduce variation across SCs.
  • Work on continuous improvement with the SC.
  • Drive network best‑practice implementation, leveraging local initiatives led with local Ops and sharing them with EU PE for review. Once approved, the best practice is added to the EU Best Practice repository, helping top 50% SCs reach best‑in‑class through the variation reduction process.
  • Strengthen the framework used to capture and scale SC innovation. New ideas and projects flow through a standard process and are presented to CPE for review.
  • Partner with SC Ops: join daily Gemba on the floor with SC Leadership to stay aligned with top issues and associate feedback.
  • Support the Site Leader and the SC Senior Management Team by building a strong relationship that earns trust and buy‑in for all initiatives. Aside from standard tasks, the SPE can support Site Leader and senior Ops on process‑related ad‑hoc tasks from the SC, accounting for less than 10% of working time.
  • During Q4, be deployed to the site management operational team based on building needs.
  • Travel as needed within your area of responsibility; domestic and regional travel estimated at 0‑10% (subject to change based on business need).

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • High level of proficiency in English and German, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in Amazon Operations as an Area Manager or comparable experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong professional experience with Lean, Six‑Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Relevant knowledge of change management and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and detail orientation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders in adopting change.
