Software Quality Engineering Manager

In this role you lead a Software Quality Engineering team to deliver high-quality, compliant software powering analytical instruments. You’ll foster an inclusive, high-performing culture and partner across software, product, and regulatory teams to embed quality throughout the lifecycle. You drive modern quality practices, risk management, and validation to meet customer and regulatory expectations. • Lead and develop Software QC and Test Engineering teams across multiple sites (Santa Clara and Waldbronn).
• Set team priorities, allocate resources, and align with business objectives.
• Coach engineers and leaders, supporting career development and evolving regulatory needs.
• Partner with software development, product management, and regulatory teams to define verification/validation strategies.
• Oversee testing, automation, risk management, and defect resolution to satisfy customer and regulatory requirements.
• Drive adoption of modern quality practices, including test automation and shift-left quality.
• Ensure compliance with QMS processes and regulatory requirements through verification, validation, traceability, and test evidence.
• Champion quality and customer focus by leading initiatives to improve product quality and team performance.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields with directly relevant experience
• Typically 1+ years of leadership experience
• Experience leading software quality or software testing organizations (manual and automated)
• Strong knowledge of chromatography and mass spectrometry software ecosystems
• Knowledge of regulated software development standards (ISO 9001, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ALCOA+ data integrity)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, Secure SDLC, and risk-based testing
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
