Systems Engineer - Space

Overview

In this role you analyse constellation design and ship the tooling and models that support mission studies. You act as the technical expert on satellite systems, challenging partner designs and driving trade studies across subsystems. You will move programmes through development to flight, collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders. You contribute to a mission-driven effort to advance space capabilities while upholding ethical considerations.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Run mission analysis for constellation design (orbit selection, coverage, launch and disposal)
  • Own requirements flowdown, system budgets (mass, power, link), and segment interfaces
  • Build and maintain production-grade analysis tooling used by the team
  • Serve as technical expert for satellite system design (subsystems)
  • Drive trade studies across subsystems and segments
  • Present results to internal teams, partners, and customers
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Master's or PhD in aerospace engineering, physics, or related field
  • Fluency in orbit mechanics and mission analysis; experience with GMAT, FreeFlyer, STK, or Orekit
  • Experience with spacecraft systems engineering (requirements, budgets, interfaces, verification)
  • Deep knowledge in at least one subsystem (AOCS/GNC, propulsion, power, thermal, TT&C/RF)
  • Several years of production-grade software work in a large, shared codebase (code review, CI, testing, documentation)
  • Python, plus at least one of Rust or modern C++
  • Strong mathematics and physics (linear algebra, numerical methods, error budgets)
  • Clear communicator; ability to present complex results to diverse stakeholders
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving drive
  • GMAT; FreeFlyer; STK; Orekit
  • Python; Rust or modern C++
  • Orbit mechanics and mission analysis
