Your Objectives & Role

  • Build & Empower High-Performing Teams: hire, onboard, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of feedback, psychological safety, and continuous growth.
  • Orchestrate Delivery Excellence: own the How and ensure the team ships value consistently by optimizing agile workflows, removing roadblocks, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Bridge Strategy & Execution: translate high-level company goals into actionable technical objectives, balancing feature delivery with technical debt reduction.
  • Drive Technical Health: challenge architectural decisions, guide RFCs, and ensure the team adheres to SDLC best practices, security standards, and DevOps principles.
  • Master Conflict & Problem Solving: act as the escalation point for critical issues, resolve conflicts promptly, and shield the team from distractions.
  • Cultivate the Peter Park Mindset: instill an entrepreneurial spirit in the team, encouraging ownership, customer-centric thinking, and a drive to understand the why behind every line of code.

Requirements

  • Real Seniority: drive for continuous improvement, direct business impact, and ownership.
  • Proven Leadership Experience: 4+ years in software engineering, with significant experience leading or managing teams in a fast-paced SaaS or IoT scale-up environment.
  • Technical Fluency: strong background in software development (ideally TypeScript, Node.js, or Python) and understanding of cloud architectures (AWS).
  • Agile Native: deep proficiency with project management tools (Linear, Jira) and agile methodologies, and use of data to improve velocity and release frequency.
  • People-First Mentality: high emotional intelligence, proactive, empathetic, and capable of motivating a diverse team.
  • Operational Rigor: structured and conscientious, managing complex stakeholders and communicating effectively with both engineers and C-level executives.
  • Communication: excellent English communication skills (C1+) are mandatory; German proficiency is a strong plus.

Technologies We Work With

  • Backend: event-driven microservices in Python and Node.js (NestJS).
  • Frontend: monorepo powered by Turbo, pnpm, changesets, and Storybook, primarily using Vue.js.
  • Frameworks/Libraries: TypeScript, NestJS, BullMQ, and Prisma in an opinionated monorepo approach.
  • Databases: Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, S3.
  • Orchestration & CI/CD: Kubernetes (EKS), using Keda and Karpenter for autoscaling. CI/CD powered by GitLab.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform for AWS provisioning.
  • Serverless: AWS Lambda and the Serverless framework for high-throughput endpoints.

Team & Work Setup

  • Hours: 40 hours per week (based on trust).
  • Home Office Policy: hybrid model with 3 days in the office / 2 days remote.
  • Contract: permanent contract for long-term stability.
  • Location: modern office in Munich, Bavaria.
