Test & Validation Engineer

Overview

In this role you will contribute to the development and validation of coherent DSPs and transmission modules for optical networks within Nokia’s Optical Networks division. You will join a cross-disciplinary ASIC/SoC team focused on advancing chip technology to increase optical reach while reducing power and footprint. You’ll work on high-frequency frontend measurement and lab automation, collaborating with global teams to ensure quality from IP test chips to product release. This is an opportunity to shape next-gen coherent transmission in a scale-driven, innovation-led environment.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Execute ADC and DAC lab measurements in collaboration with design teams (ADC/DAC, ASIC, PIC, optical modules)
  • Optimize ADC/DAC test environments and PLL performance
  • Implement and optimize measurement methodologies, scripts, and tool chains for efficient validation
  • Interpret and explain measurement results to DSP and PIC teams
  • Diagnose and resolve issues to meet project timelines
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain to establish efficient ADC/DAC test methods for volume production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across international Nokia locations
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or related field
  • Deep knowledge of ADC/DAC technology and measurement methodologies
  • Proficiency with high-frequency measurement equipment (above 100 GHz)
  • Lab setups and DUT control using scripts and firmware/software modules for ADC/DAC in DSP ASICs
  • Proven experience in Python for lab automation; Matlab is a plus
  • Basic understanding of digital signal processing and signal analysis
  • Basic understanding of firmware development, C/C++, and API/drivers for design blocks
  • Strong communication skills; fluent English; German expected
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across international teams
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Bias for action and ability to meet tight timelines

  • Lab automation with Python; Matlab (asset)
