Program Overview:

For talents with an entrepreneurial mindset and the courage to shape the future, the 18-month "Start up!" Trainee Program offers space to learn and develop. We offer you a broad spectrum of insights into our organization, as well as the opportunity to leave your comfort zone and explore new topics in order to reach your full potential.

You will complete 5 project assignments: the first within Finance. Afterwards, you can select your subsequent projects individually across the entire group.

Step out of your comfort zone! After your first assignment, you decide which topics you want to dive deeper into. During the program, we want you to leave your comfort zone and explore new fields within Deutsche Telekom. We will support you with an extensive network. Expand your network and experience the trainee community! Fridays are reserved for “Magenta Friday.” All trainees come together to work on strategic, innovative growth topics outside of their project assignments. Trainees work in different teams to organize events, promote their further development, or contribute to social initiatives.

Go international! A leading digital telecommunications company without international experience? Never! One of your 3-month assignments will be abroad. You decide which country and city yourself. Understand our business! Take the opportunity to get to know Deutsche Telekom's operational business. During our "Service Days," you can gain direct insights into how Deutsche Telekom works with customers. Choose your "Service Days," such as a day in customer service, a visit to a T-Shop, or a stop at one of our service centers. You will gain direct insight into how we turn customers into fans every day.

Choose your start date! You have the opportunity to start the program every quarter. Simply discuss with your contact person which date suits you best.

Profile:

You hold a degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance & Accounting, or a related field of study—graduates of all academic levels (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate/PhD) are welcome to apply.

Skills:

Your personality is characterized by a passion for innovation, curiosity, and the courage to challenge the status quo. You enjoy working with numbers, analyzing them precisely, and deriving sound recommendations for action.

Basic Knowledge:

You have a genuine interest in finance topics combined with a strongly analytical mindset, supported by relevant university coursework in this area.

Focus on Employees:

You are a passionate team player and enthusiastic about creating the best experiences for our employees by contributing to financial topics and much more.

Relevant Experience:

You have gained at least 6 months of initial relevant internship or work experience in audit and/or consulting environments. Ideally, you have up to about 1 year of total relevant professional experience and want to targetedly advance your career within a trainee program.

Understanding of Corporate Strategies:

You understand how Finance, digitalization and Data & AI contribute to achieving corporate goals and are motivated to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions with measurable impact.

Intercultural Competence:

Our Start up! community thrives on its internationality. Therefore, strong intercultural skills should be in your DNA.

International Experience:

Experience abroad — whether through studying abroad, work & travel, etc. — is a must (at least 3 months).

Commitment and Entrepreneurial Spirit:

As a Start up! trainee, you are passionate about driving change! Experience in social engagement and/or entrepreneurial projects is therefore very welcome.

Language Skills:

You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, at C1 level and German at B1 level. Furthermore, you are motivated to improve your German skills during the program. Severely disabled applicants will be given preference in the case of equal qualifications.
