About Starcopter
starcopter is an aviation technology company based in Braunschweig - the aerospace research capital of Lower Saxony. Founded in 2017 by engineers from TU Braunschweig and TU Clausthal, we develop and manufacture unmanned aerial systems (UAS) engineered for exceptional efficiency, payload capacity, and reliability.
Our flagship platform, the HIGHDRA, is a six-rotor commercial drone built for heavy payloads and long flight times, offered through an innovative flight-hours pricing model. With a European supply chain and production made in Germany, our systems support demanding professional applications including LiDAR point cloud generation, photogrammetry, thermal inspection, and visual inspection.
Your Responsibilities
- Mission Planning and Execution: You will plan and execute flight missions in accordance with starcopter’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for mapping, surveying, and specialized industrial inspections.
- Showcase and Demonstrations: You will conduct customer demonstrations and showcase flights to provide authoritative assurance of the system’s safety and capability to clients.
- Regulatory Consultancy: You will serve in our team of regulatory advisors for clients, conducting comprehensive training on EASA regulations and answering any inquiries regarding airspace compliance and operational restrictions in german and english.
- Operational Coordination: You will coordinate closely with ground teams, clients, and aviation authorities to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Development Support: You will support our engineering and development teams during prototyping, integration, and testing phases by providing direct feedback.
- Technical Maintenance: During non-operational periods, you will assist with basic UAV maintenance, inspections, and servicing to ensure fleet reliability.
- Compliance and Documentation: You will support compliance activities by maintaining accurate flight logs, operational records, and contributing to the development of Operations Manuals and risk assesments (SORA/CONOPS).
Your Profile
- Flight Experience: You have at least one (1) year of pracitcal experience flying drones, either professionally, academically, or through structured operational use.
- Manual Control Proficiency: You have demonstrated flight experience with drones in Manual, Position, and Mission modes.
- Regulatory Certification: You hold a drone pilot certification compliant with EASA and/or national aviation authority requirements.
- Operational Knowledge: You are familiar with EASA operational categories (Open, Specific, and Certified).
- Willingness to Specialize: You have a high willingness to undertake additional training and licensing to master the SORA methodology and C3-specific requirements.
- Communication: You can communicate effectively in both Enlish and German, which is essential for coordination with the LBA and internal teams.
- Mobility: You posses a valid Class B driver’s license.
