We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity to join our Manufacturing division as a Technical Sales Manager. This role involves leading the sales of Vacuum Chamber Manufacturing services across nominated regions, managing a dynamic portfolio of academic and industrial clients. With significant scope for growth and innovation, we are seeking a technically adept and results-driven individual to drive strategic development.

This is a remote role with regular travel across the UK and Europe – a company car or allowance is provided.

Summary: As the Technical Sales Manager – Manufacturing, you will drive the sales cycle for custom vacuum chamber manufacturing, acting as the technical liaison and team leader in developing sales strategies and capturing market opportunities. You will collaborate with Regional Sales Managers and Product Specialists to improve win rates, grow target GP, and align with strategic goals. The role involves customer engagement, technical quoting, opportunity development via CRM, and regular travel to visit customers and attend networking events.

Key Job Elements:

• Support the sale of Manufacturing services, primarily Vacuum Chamber Manufacturing
• Design sales strategies in conjunction with RSMs or independently to maximize sales and improve win rates while maintaining target GP; communication with RSMs and Product Specialists is critical
• Provide technical quotations, customer visits (in person or virtual), and presentations as needed
• Serve as the primary sales contact, with activities recorded in CRM
• Generate quotations for services and products via Manufacturing Product Specialists
• Identify and present new markets and opportunities
• Communicate technical aspects of opportunities to the operations team
• Lead RFQ submissions and bidding processes
• Manage territorial leads and input data into CRM or other tools
• Attend networking events and drive marketing campaigns for market intelligence
• Provide regular reports on sales opportunities and market conditions
• Travel to visit customers and attend events within the academic and industrial sectors, including occasional visits to UK headquarters

Qualifications:

Required:

• Qualifications in Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent
• Technical sales aptitude and customer networking skills
• Proven success in direct sales or sales management
• Strong organization, communication, negotiation, CRM, and MS Office skills
• Willingness to travel 30-60% within Europe

Preferred:

• Experience in technical sales, mechanical engineering, or materials science
• Knowledge of the vacuum industry
