AI Research Engineer - ML & Signal Processing

In this role you will advance signal processing capabilities to support AI-assisted human decision-making in defence. You’ll join Helsing’s signal processing team to develop in-house solutions for sky and underwater scenarios, balancing high generalisation with hardware constraints and robustness against adversarial threats. You will collaborate across diverse teams to deploy state-of-the-art AI technologies in real-world settings. • Develop and extend state-of-the-art signal processing methods
• Apply and deploy AI/ML technologies in real-world scenarios

• Build in-house signal processing solutions for sky and underwater environments

• MSc in signal processing, machine learning, robotics, communication engineering or related field with experience in conceptualising, implementing and evaluating advanced AI-based systems
• Excellent communication skills to report and present research findings clearly
• Active interest in keeping up-to-date with research and reimplementing/extending state-of-the-art ML/AI
• Solid software engineering skills; experience writing clean, well-structured Python and/or Rust, Java, or modern C++
