Electrical Engineer - Battery & Charging

Stellenbeschreibung:

As an Electrical Engineer – Battery & Charging , you join as a key contributor to the power architecture of the robot, working directly with the Electronics Principal. You will own the design and implementation of the robot’s energy system; from battery pack integration and charging electronics to power monitoring and safety circuitry. Your work ensures the robot has reliable, efficient, and safe power delivery under demanding real-world conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Battery System Design: Design and integrate the robot’s battery systems, including pack interfaces, protection circuitry, and power distribution. You will work with high-current lithium battery systems, ensuring safe operation, efficient power delivery, and robust monitoring capabilities.
  • Charging Electronics & Power Management: Design and implement charging circuits and battery management integrations. You will develop solutions that ensure efficient charging, accurate state monitoring, and protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, and thermal events.
  • Power Reliability & Validation: Own the validation of the robot’s power subsystem. You will test charging performance, analyze thermal behavior, and validate system stability under dynamic load conditions typical of industrial robotics. You ensure the power system performs reliably throughout the robot’s full operational cycle.

Your profile

We seek builders ready to move beyond theory to real deployment: Professionals who value precision and reliability as much as innovation.

  • Experience: 5+ years in Electrical Engineering, with strong exposure to battery systems, power electronics, robotics, automotive, or energy storage applications.
  • Core Skills: Experience designing power electronics, battery integration, and charging systems. Strong understanding of lithium battery behavior, protection mechanisms, and power distribution. Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads) and hands-on debugging.
  • Mindset: You are practical and safety-oriented. You design power systems with real-world conditions in mind - current spikes, thermal limits, and fault conditions. You approach energy systems with a strong focus on reliability, protection, and long‑term durability.
