We are actively looking for a Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) to join our company.

Summary

The Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the vessel’s electrical, electronic, automation, communication, and Dynamic Positioning systems. Working closely with the Chief Engineer and onboard management team, the ETO ensures that all electrical systems operate safely and reliably to support continuous offshore operations.

With 11 active AHTS vessels, 7 active PSVs, and 12 newbuild vessels joining our fleet, this is an exciting opportunity to work with modern offshore technology while building a long-term career with UOS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all electrical, electronic, automation, navigation, communication, and DP systems onboard.
• Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with company procedures and manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and automation faults to minimize vessel downtime.
• Support engine room operations by maintaining power generation and distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with class, flag state, statutory, and company requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records within the vessel’s planned maintenance system.
• Assist during audits, inspections, dry dockings, and vessel mobilizations.
• Support commissioning activities on newbuild vessels where required.
• Liaise with shore management and equipment manufacturers regarding technical support.
• Promote safe working practices and actively participate in safety meetings and emergency drills.

Qualifications

• Electro-Technical Officer Certificate of Competency.
• Previous offshore experience on AHTS, PSV, or similar offshore vessels.
• Experience with Dynamic Positioning, automation, and marine electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Good understanding of planned maintenance systems.
• Valid STCW certification and offshore medical.
• Fluent in English.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently and within a team.
