Expert Project Subcontracting - Mechanical (m/f/d)

In this role you manage technically demanding mechanical work packages across the full project lifecycle, from bidding to execution and commercial management on site. You will join an international team and help drive project success through proactive planning, contract handling, and continuous improvement. You work closely with engineering, quality, planning, and management to ensure smooth execution and risk control. This position offers exposure to large-scale, multidisciplinary projects and opportunities to shape project outcomes.

• Prepare, negotiate, award, and execute works and works-and-supply contracts in the multi-million euro range
• Monitor subcontractor performance for mechanical systems and manage progress
• Handle subcontractor claims commercially
• Manage change to/from subcontractors and liaise with contract management for claims
• Minimize delays risks through proactive planning and communication
• Negotiate contract conclusions
• Collaborate with engineering, design, quality management, planning, and project management
• Drive continuous improvement via feedback and lessons learned
• Provide regular reports to the Project Procurement Manager

• Completed technical education or degree in mechanical engineering or similar
• Several years of project management experience in large-scale projects (construction or plant engineering)
• Solid knowledge of mechanical disciplines (e.g., HVAC and wastewater)
• Understanding of EPC/EPCM project execution models
• Strong IT skills (MS Office) and ERP systems (ideally SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, RIB iTWO)
• Knowledge of handling contracts per VOB, BGB or HOAI is an advantage
• Proficient in English and German (spoken and written)
• Willingness to travel nationally and on-site as needed
