Finance Lead - WIP accounting - Construction (M/F)

To support the development and structuring of one of our companies (€ 100 revenue), we are looking for our:

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, you will manage a small team. Your scope covers one Group entity in Germany, with a revenue of approximately €100 Million.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the Controlling function, driving standardization, process improvements and operational excellence.
• Own and continuously improve construction Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting, ensuring accurate project valuation, revenue recognition and profitability reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts and financial performance analysis, providing meaningful insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Partner with operational teams to monitor project performance, improve project profitability and support business decision-making.
• Lead the monthly and annual financial closing processes, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate and reliable financial reporting.
• Review financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Group accounting policies and standards.
• Manage cash flow reporting and forecasting, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize working capital and liquidity.

You have at least seven years of finance experience within the construction or public works sector, giving you a thorough understanding of project-driven financial environments.

You have solid hands-on experience with Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting in a construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure environment. Experience with long-term project accounting, percentage-of-completion methods and project profitability analysis is essential. Candidates with a manufacturing or industrial costing background only will not be a match for this role.

You are highly proficient in Excel and modern financial systems, with advanced skills in process automation and data analysis (Power Query, VBA, Power BI, Business Central or equivalent). You are comfortable leveraging technology to improve reporting quality, streamline financial processes and support business decision-making.
