Adjunct Faculty, German Language

Location: Ramstein, Germany

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on‑site in the German Language program.

Responsibilities

• Engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed.
• Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning through problem‑ and project‑based demonstrations.
• Provide rich, regular constructive feedback and utilize rubrics effectively for assessment of student work.
• Demonstrate relevant and current subject‑matter expertise and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
• Offer feedback to the program chair on possible curricular improvements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in German Language Studies or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional experience in German Language Studies or a related field.
• Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.
• Local applicants only and must be able to maintain legal status in Germany.

Salary

• Non‑PhD: Step 1 $903 – Step 16 $1,173 per credit hour.
• PhD: Step 1 $931 – Step 16 $1,215 per credit hour.
