IT Infrastructure Operations Engineer (m/f/d)

In this role you drive the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of a secure, mission-critical IT infrastructure. You work within an international team to automate operations, manage Linux environments, and ensure high availability and performance in a large datacenter. You’ll collaborate across security, network, cloud, and apps teams to maintain reliability and implement improvements with measurable impact. This position offers hands-on on-site work and opportunities to shape enterprise-scale infrastructure at the edge of security.

• Design, implement and continuously improve infrastructure automation processes
• Administer and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments (including Red Hat Satellite)
• Manage enterprise backup solutions (CommVault)
• Operate and enhance the infrastructure monitoring environment and alerting
• Perform on-site datacenter activities including hardware maintenance and support
• Operate, maintain and improve server, storage, and infrastructure services in the datacenter
• Analyze alerts and performance data to preempt issues
• Troubleshoot incidents related to servers, storage, backup, monitoring, and infrastructure services
• Support lifecycle management, patching and hardening of servers
• Contribute to IT architecture and operational standards improvements
• Identify opportunities to increase automation, reliability, scalability and efficiency
• Participate in incident, problem and change management
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base
• Share knowledge and contribute to training and enablement
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, cloud and application teams

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or comparable qualification with relevant experience
• Strong Linux system administration experience, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Experience with infrastructure automation and standardized operational processes
• Hands-on with Red Hat Satellite (patch, lifecycle management, provisioning)
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions (CommVault)
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting solutions
• Experience operating and troubleshooting enterprise datacenter infrastructure
• Willingness to perform regular on-site datacenter work
• Understanding of high-availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery
• Experience with virtualization, server and storage technologies (advantage)
• Networking and IT security concepts (advantage)
• Scripting/automation with Bash, Python or Ansible (desirable)
• Ability to translate monitoring data into operational actions
