Infineon Technologies

Lead Principal Engineer for Timer & Real-Time Control in Microcontrollers (f/m/div)

Stellenbeschreibung:

Overview

As a Lead Principal Engineer in Timer & Real-Time Control for Microcontrollers, you shape the architectural direction of timer systems across MCU generations. You will work within R&D to balance real-time performance, power, and safety, driving innovations that enable reliable control loops. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate use cases into robust architecture and KPIs, leveraging simulations and AI-enabled methods. This role offers the chance to impact product portfolios at scale and contribute to Infineon’s mission of green, secure technology.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Break down stakeholder requirements into architectural timer requirements and interfaces
  • Own platform-level timer architecture and evolution of IP components across MCU generations
  • Define deterministic timing concepts for real-time control loops (triggering, synchronization, latency/jitter budgets, fault reactions)
  • Drive architectural trade-offs between real-time performance, power, safety, and scalability using simulations and prototypes
  • Ensure Power-Performance-Area competitiveness for the subsystem across the full product portfolio
  • Interface with Technical Marketing, SoC/IP Design, Verification, and Software teams for coherent system integration
  • Create and maintain high-quality architecture documentation and requirement baselines
  • Proactively identify innovation opportunities in timer and real-time orchestration aligned with platform strategy
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Control Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor or automotive MCU/SoC architecture with hands-on design experience
  • Strong expertise in timer architecture and deterministic real-time system design
  • Proven experience translating use-case/system needs into architectural requirements and KPIs
  • Solid understanding of closed-loop control constraints (timing determinism, synchronization, latency/jitter control)
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 and functional safety concepts in architecture design (advantage)
  • Team player with openness for innovation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in international, cross-functional teams
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • team player
  • strong communication
  • stakeholder management
  • timer architecture
  • deterministic real-time system design
  • latency/jitter control
