Lead Systems Engineer - EO/IR Sensing

Overview

In this role you will own the end-to-end integration of the airborne EO/IR targeting system, translating mission needs into performance requirements and guiding the system through flight test to operational release. You will lead verification, data interfaces, and supplier coordination to deliver a robust, fully qualified capability. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure sensor concepts of operations and multi-sensor cueing meet mission objectives. Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Own end-to-end system engineering and integration from requirements to flight test and release
  • Translate mission needs into sensor performance requirements (detection, tracking, ID, FOV, stabilization, latency)
  • Define sensor CONOPS and mission-phase behavior including sensor scheduling
  • Lead target detection, tracking, and classification pipeline integration (thresholding, false-alarm control, confidence metrics)
  • Ensure robust multi-sensor cueing with other sensors
  • Manage data interfaces/ICDs to mission computer and C2 (video formats, metadata, track outputs) and health reporting
  • Plan and execute verification and test campaigns (lab/HIL, flight test)
  • Coordinate with software/avionics teams on data interfaces
  • Manage supplier technical control (reviews, tests, change requests, closure)
  • Produce program artifacts (requirements, verification matrices, test plans, performance reports, flight readiness)
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Hold a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience delivering EO/IR targeting systems through integration, test, and operational release
  • Ability to translate mission scenarios into detailed DRI requirements and sensor performance constraints
  • Experience with sensor mode design/CONOPS and sensor scheduling across mission phases
  • Experience integrating detection/tracking/classification pipelines with confidence metrics
  • Understanding of multi-sensor cueing and data handover (radar/EO-IR) and metadata alignment
  • Led verification & test activities (lab/HIL, ground range, flight test) and debugging from imagery to algorithms to avionics/software
  • Experience in supplier technical control and driving issues to closure
