Overview

As Lead Engineer for Low Observability & RF Interoperability, you lead initiatives to minimize electromagnetic signatures while ensuring RF systems co-exist without degradation. You own emission control and RF interoperability across airborne payloads, and drive system-level integration and verification for mission-critical performance in contested environments. You will shape emission control profiles, interference management, and signature-aware operation concepts. This role offers meaningful impact at Helsing, balancing ethics and advanced tech in defence.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Design and own emission control for the overall system (airborne platform and ground components)
  • Own day-to-day RF interoperability across airborne payloads (radar/AESA, RWR/ESM, datalinks, SATCOM/LOS radios, GNSS, IFF, telemetry)
  • Plan and execute EMC/EMI co-site assessments with analyses and mitigation recommendations
  • Define and manage frequency plans, channelization, guard bands, and emission control profiles
  • Develop signature-aware operation concepts with passive-first tactics and reporting policies
  • Coordinate with LO/structures teams to ensure RF designs support low observability
  • Run system-level trade studies and create integration and verification test plans
  • Ensure operations under contested EW conditions with resilience and fallback modes
  • Lead cross-functional issue resolution and coordinate corrective actions with vendors
  • Manage supplier/customer RF exchanges and ensure compliance with platform constraints
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Hold a relevant degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience delivering RF/EMC co-site interoperability on airborne platforms
  • Hands-on experience with multi-sensor RF integration (AESA radar, ESM/RWR, datalinks/SATCOM/LOS radios, GNSS, IFF)
  • Ability to perform interference/desense/intermod analyses and translate results into mitigations
  • Experience building and executing EMC/EMI and OTA test campaigns with model-data correlation
  • Understanding of antenna placement/coupling and integration with airframe/structures
  • Demonstrated low-observability/signature-management mindset and EMCON concepts
  • Fluency with requirements ICDs verification and traceability in a regulated aerospace environment
  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical closure with suppliers and drive verified outcomes
