New Business Development Manager - Germany

This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive business growth across dynamic sectors of the German economy by leading direct sales business development activities throughout Germany and Austria. Representing the full range of Company products and services, the successful candidate will work with end users of BS&B technology, EPC contractors, and OEMs to identify and secure new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities.
• Conduct direct sales activities consistent with market development goals.
• Establish relationships with customers and key industry stakeholders.
• Identify and evaluate customer requirements, providing commercially and technically appropriate solutions.
• Develop and implement competitive sales strategies to achieve regional growth objectives.
• Forecast sales performance and deliver agreed sales targets in collaboration with management.
• Collaborate closely with internal sales, engineering, R&D, and product specialists to support customer projects and enquiries.
• Represent the Company at industry trade shows, exhibitions, seminars, and customer presentations to strengthen market presence and business networks.
• Success in this role will be measured by new business growth, customer development, and achievement of agreed regional sales targets.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' professional experience, including experience in technical sales, business development, or customer-facing engineering roles.
• Proven track record in developing new customers, new markets, and business growth opportunities.
• Experience selling into industrial sectors such as chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, energy, water treatment, industrial gases, aerospace, automotive, or related industries.
• Native-level German and fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to present solutions, negotiate effectively, and secure new business.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently while managing a geographically dispersed territory.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout (approximately 30–50% travel).
• Ready to operate from BS&B’s Dusseldorf office base.
• Knowledge of pressurised systems and the pressure relief device industry.
• Experience working with industrial standards and regulatory requirements, including familiarity with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), ATEX, ASME, or related codes and standards.
• Experience working with EPC contractors and OEMs serving industrial process industries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to developing technical and commercial solutions for customers.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
