Project Director Large Scale Projects (f/m/d)

In this role you lead end-to-end delivery of national and international large-scale plant projects (50–300 MW) for PEM electrolysis, guiding cross-functional teams and managing complex contracts. You will act as the main customer interface, translate requirements into executable solutions, and ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality project outcomes. You’ll operate in an international, multi-stakeholder environment and drive risk- and change-management to protect project objectives. • End-to-end delivery of large-scale EPC projects (50–300 MW) from planning to commissioning
• Lead cross-functional project teams across engineering, procurement, operations and commercial
• Manage complex consortium structures and governance with multiple partners
• Oversee contractual and commercial execution from award to final acceptance
• Serve as primary customer interface and central contact for technical and project matters
• Translate customer requirements into executable project solutions aligning with feasibility and contracts
• Coordinate internal/external schedules, resources and interfaces balancing tech, economic, and organizational factors
• Ensure compliance with contractual specs and maintain high quality and performance
• Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities; manage claims and change orders with legal/commercial teams
• Provide structured reporting to senior management on performance, risks, and milestones

• Engineering degree or related field with relevant experience
• Extensive experience in large-scale plant construction and EPC project execution
• IPMA Level B certification or equivalent (preferred)
• Proven expertise in managing complex contracts, consortia, and multi-party EPC agreements
• Strong leadership, accountability, initiative, and ability to drive results in complex projects
• Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills across stakeholders
• Ability to operate in international and multicultural environments
• Strong negotiation, assertiveness, and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in English and minimum B1 German; able to communicate in technical, commercial and executive contexts
