Overview

As part of the Cologne team, you will underwrite risks with a focus on profitability across Property, Energy, and Engineering lines, and structure non-proportional reinsurance solutions. You will develop facultative program concepts and manage national and international client relationships while contributing to portfolio growth. You’ll engage in technical discussions and share knowledge through industry events and internal trainings, across cross-branch projects. This role offers international exposure within a strong, inclusive culture and the chance to shape facultative strategy in a leading reinsurance group.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Assess and underwrite risks with profitability focus across Property, Energy, and Engineering lines
Structure and price non-proportional reinsurance solutions (excess layers) including catastrophe exposure analysis
Develop value-adding concepts for facultative program business
Manage key accounts and nurture client relationships at technical and executive levels
Monitor and analyze primary insurance markets and contribute to portfolio growth initiatives
Engage in technical discussions with clients and present at industry events or internal trainings
Participate in cross-branch projects

Zentrale Anforderungen

Degree in insurance, engineering, or related field; or relevant vocational training with advanced professional qualifications
Experience in underwriting or risk engineering preferred
Willingness to travel and customer-/team-oriented mindset
Entrepreneurial thinking, team spirit, agility, openness to new ideas
Strong analytical skills and ability to grasp complex issues
Fluency in German and/or English with excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
