Your tasks

Conduct independent research in arithmetic geometry, the local Langlands programme, and p‑adic geometry.
Prepare and publish research findings.
Teach and supervise undergraduate students (approximately 4 hours per week).
Organise and conduct seminars and workshops.

Your profile

PhD in a relevant field of mathematics (especially algebra).
Extensive research experience in p‑adic geometry and the (local or geometric) Langlands programme.
Ability to contribute to the department’s teaching portfolio.

Further information

Salary is based on the collective agreement of the Länder (TV‑L) and will be TV‑L E13 when requirements are met. The teaching load is calculated according to § 3 Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung (North Rhine‑Westphalia). The place of work is Ruhr University Bochum.

RUB provides free German language courses if needed. Preferably, applicants should be fluent in German or English; willingness to learn the other language is a prerequisite.
