Scientist | MS Biomarker Research / Proteomics

In this role you contribute to biomarker discovery and translational sciences within a cross‑functional Drug Discovery Sciences team. You design and perform proteomics experiments, from discovery to targeted quantification and validation, using cutting‑edge LC‑MS workflows. You will train colleagues, maintain instruments, and shape first‑in‑class opportunities that advance innovative therapies. • Review requests for biomarker discovery and quantitation and align path-forward with project partners
• Lead design, execution, and analysis of proteomics experiments (discovery, targeted quantification, PTM identification, interactome)
• Utilise omics platforms for translational topics, validation, and mechanism of action elucidation
• Perform practical lab work: generate and analyze proteomics samples and operate/maintain LC–MS systems
• Advance proteomics workflows and challenge status quo through innovative approaches
• Educate and train colleagues in proteomic analysis and continue developing drug discovery expertise

• Master or PhD in mass spectrometry‑based proteomics, biochemistry, pharmacology or related discipline with hands‑on experience in DIA workflows on a Thermo Orbitrap Astral mass spectrometer
• Experience with state‑of‑the‑art proteomics workflows and sample preparation for LC‑MS analyses
• Knowledge of disease‑relevant animal models for translational aspects is a plus
• Solid understanding of biochemistry, molecular mechanisms and pharmacology relevant to drug discovery; understanding of biomarkers in drug discovery and development
• Expertise operating cutting‑edge MS platforms (Orbitrap, QTOF) and analysis software
• Analytical mindset with ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams
• Excellent data analysis, data management, and presentation skills
• Fluent in English and German (German a plus)
