Senior Data Engineer

In this role you will design, build, and operate a modern Azure-based data platform, focusing on Azure, Databricks, and CI/CD. You will create scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and support multi-tenant environments across development, testing, and production. You will partner with BI and data teams to optimize data models, reporting, and governance basics, while applying cost-aware Azure practices. • Design, build, and operate end-to-end data solutions using Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics
• Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines with PySpark and Spark emphasizing data quality, reliability, and performance
• Support and manage multi-tenant data platforms across development, test, and production environments with governance and separation
• Provision, configure, and maintain Azure data infrastructure ensuring stability, security, and scalability
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workloads and Databricks deployments across environments
• Apply Azure best practices for performance optimization and cost management including resource sizing and lifecycle management
• Collaborate with BI and data teams to support efficient data models and reporting solutions
• Support data governance basics such as access control, secure data handling, and metadata management

• Azure Data Platform Experience with Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics
• Strong PySpark and Spark experience for distributed data processing
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data modeling
• CI/CD pipelines experience for data workloads and basic deployment automation
• Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing analytical queries
• Practical experience with Parquet and/or Avro data formats
• Good understanding of Azure resource structure, environments, and operational best practices
• Analytical and team-oriented mindset with ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Fluency in English; knowledge of German is a plus
