Overview

In this role you will drive innovative fine-pitch connector development for board-to-board and wire-to-board applications in Automation Controls and Battery Electric Storage Systems. You will work closely with global engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams to address assembly and manufacturing challenges, advancing NPI from concept to production. You will lead design, prototyping, testing, and validation efforts, ensuring manufacturability and quality. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with impact on product performance, reliability, and production efficiency, in a dynamic industrial environment.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Lead concept development for fine-pitch connectors targeting board-to-board and wire-to-board applications in Automation Controls and BESS
Design differentiated connector solutions addressing customer assembly and manufacturing pain points
Create concept evaluation parts aligned with PRD specifications and manufacturing constraints
Guide iterative design through prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement for optimal performance
Lead extension NPI development programs from concept to production release
Execute DVT and validation activities for new connector platforms
Coordinate with Manufacturing Development Engineering to ensure DFM throughout development
Support existing fine-pitch portfolio with performance optimization, ECRs, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and VAVE
Partner cross-functionally on FMEA, risk mitigation, and second-source development activities

Zentrale Anforderungen

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
Several years of progressive experience in product development engineering, preferably in connectors
Strong background in fine-pitch connectors and high-density interconnects; familiarity with automotive processes (APQP, PPAP, TS16949)
Understanding of contact physics, materials, and environmental performance requirements
Knowledge of stamping, injection molding, plating, and assembly processes
Proficiency in CAD tools (Pro/E, SolidWorks) and PLM systems; understanding of signal integrity and high-speed digital applications
Knowledge of Automation Controls applications including PLC interfaces and industrial communication protocols
Knowledge of Battery Electric Storage Systems (BESS) requirements including power management and safety standards
Strong technical leadership, analytical problem-solving, and ability to translate customer needs into technical requirements
Excellent project management and communication skills; familiarity with regulatory/quality standards in Industrial and Automotive sectors
