You will work in an international team bridging applied research and product development to advance ABB electrification solutions. You will develop algorithms, validate concepts with simulations and prototypes, and integrate with higher-level control systems. Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Develop advanced algorithms for analysis, control, protection, and optimization of industrial grids and microgrids
  • Validate concepts via simulation, software prototypes, and demonstrators
  • Integrate solutions with higher-level control systems and interfaces such as site control systems or energy market platforms
  • Gather domain requirements and translate them into use cases for international, multidisciplinary projects
  • Initiate, lead, and contribute to research activities with high business relevance for ABB
  • Communicate complex results to expert audiences, partners, and senior management
  • Publish results at scientific conferences and contribute to IP creation, representing ABB in committees
  • Build partnerships with universities, research institutes and other collaborators, including publicly funded projects
  • Develop innovative solutions and protect them through IP
  • Work across the full innovation chain from problem definition to software implementation and project execution
  • Enable new operating, controlling, protecting, and optimizing of industrial energy systems and microgrids
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • PhD in electrical engineering, control engineering, power systems, computer science, or related field, or MSc with relevant experience
  • Deep expertise in microgrids, grid stability, AC/DC grids, energy distribution, grid protection, control design, or energy markets
  • Hands-on software development experience and ability to implement efficient, reliable solutions
  • Experience with power system simulation tools for modelling and validating grid/microgrid behavior
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C#, C++, Julia or similar; solid object-oriented design knowledge
  • Analytical thinking with ability to bridge research and industrial applications
  • Excellent communication and networking skills for international, cross-cultural settings
