Senior Software Architect (m/f/d)

In this role you drive the design and evolution of Java-based backend systems within a modular service architecture on the aixigo:BLOXX platform. You provide technical leadership, coaching, and knowledge sharing to ensure scalable, secure solutions. You collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into robust software, while staying current with new technologies. You will influence architecture choices and support teams to deliver high-impact projects across our finance domain.

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based backends with a modular service architecture (aixigo:BLOXX)
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the development team
• Act as a knowledge multiplier for the platform in customer or partner projects
• Collaborate with business consultants, analysts, product managers to implement solutions
• Oversee requirement implementation and anticipate challenges for bids/offers
• Ensure performance, scalability and security in system design
• Keep up-to-date with technologies and apply improvements to the tech landscape
• Participate in code reviews and give constructive feedback
• Guide, coach and support the development team as a technical expert

• Experience in architecture and design of modular systems, REST APIs or event-based interfaces
• Very good Java programming knowledge
• Experience with Apache Kafka; preferably Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns
• Familiarity with agile methods (Scrum or Kanban)
• Leadership of development teams and delivery of large-scale systems
• Experience in finance, wealth or investment domains (preferred)
• Excellent English communication; German a plus
• Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
