Role Overview

Embedded Software Engineering – Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of software projects for Wabtec’s Passenger Information Systems.
• Coordinate development teams, QA, testing, and stakeholders, ensuring on‑time, within‑budget delivery.
• Manage risks, scope and change, and support continuous improvement of development and project management processes.
• Interact with customers and internal teams to ensure project success and high satisfaction.

Typical Day

• Managing end‑to‑end delivery of software projects.
• Leading and coordinating software development teams (developers, testers, QA).
• Planning project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Monitoring budgets to ensure cost efficiency.
• Managing scope, requirements, and change requests.
• Identifying and mitigating risks and resolving issues proactively.
• Driving communication between internal stakeholders and customers.
• Supporting contract negotiations, specifications, and milestone planning.
• Building strong customer relationships and ensuring high satisfaction.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of project management and development processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of proven experience in software project management.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with project management tools such as MS Project and JIRA.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
• Fluent in English and German (written and spoken).
