Simulation Engineer

Stellenbeschreibung:

Overview

As a Simulation Engineer on the Physical Products team, you will create and maintain high-fidelity simulation environments to predict how platforms behave in flight, including aerodynamics, structures, and engagement scenarios. You will validate models against real data and ensure credibility before they inform hardware decisions. You will collaborate with GNC, mechanical, and systems engineers to tie simulations to real design questions and support design trade studies. This role offers impact through de-risking and informing mission-critical decisions in a cutting-edge domain.

Leistungen / Benefits
  • Competitive salary and VSOP options
  • Relocation support up to 2,500 and 4 weeks temporary accommodation
  • Learning allowance: 500/450 yearly
  • Gym membership and mental health support
  • Regular company events and social allowances
  • Enhanced parental leave: 22 weeks primary, 6 weeks secondary
Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Build and maintain high-fidelity simulation environments (6-DOF dynamics, aerodynamics, structures, engagement-level models)
  • Develop Monte Carlo and sensitivity analysis to cover real operating conditions
  • Collaborate with GNC, mechanical, and systems engineers to define modelling scope and fidelity
  • Validate models against real test and flight data; assess model credibility
  • Support design trade studies across vehicle, aerodynamics, control, and structure
  • Build tooling/infrastructure to speed up simulation and enable wider use across teams
  • Support flight and ground test campaigns by instrumenting and validating models
  • Communicate simulation results and limitations clearly to engineers and decision-makers
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Experience building simulation environments for physical systems (aerospace, automotive, robotics)
  • Understand when a model is a reasonable simplification vs. a detailed physics representation
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C++ or equivalent
  • Experience validating simulation output against real test or field data
  • Comfort with uncertainty, Monte Carlo methods, and probabilistic result communication
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and explain results to non-simulation specialists
  • Collaborative across disciplines
  • Clear communicator
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving
  • 6-DOF flight/missile simulation experience
  • CFD/FEA or other high-fidelity physics-based modelling tools
  • Familiarity with real-time or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) simulation environments
