Software Engineer II, Google Cloud

In this role you contribute to Google Cloud by reviewing and improving code quality, documenting and mentoring, and triaging issues across hardware, network, and services. You will design and build features for Resource Quality Provisioning (RQP), collaborating with Spatial Flexibility and related teams to drive efficiency in data-center usage. You will work across the full stack using Java and Go, shaping scalable, production-grade systems that support Google's mission to transform how users access information. This is a hands-on, owner-minded position in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Review code developed by others and provide best-practices feedback
• Contribute to documentation or educational content and update it based on product changes and user feedback
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve impacts on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
• Design and develop features for Resource Quality Provisioning (RQP) to improve data-center efficiency
• Collaborate with Flex space and Resource Optima teams; work primarily in Java and Go

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 1 year of software development experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript)
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms
• 1 year of experience with full stack development across back-end (Java, Python, Go, C++) and front-end (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
