In this role you design end-to-end functional safety architectures for humanoid robots and embodied AI, shaping safe, capable systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams. You translate use cases into system concepts and lead safety analyses with customers and partners. You will influence roadmaps through safety expertise and contribute to safety manuals, reference designs, and MBSE-driven architectures. • Define end-to-end functional safety architectures for humanoid robots and embodied AI systems
• Translate customer use cases into system-level safety concepts and semiconductor requirements
• Lead Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) activities with customers and ecosystem partners
• Develop safety concepts for robotics perception, motion control, manipulation, and power systems
• Create scalable reference architectures covering sensing, AI compute, motor control, battery management, and power electronics
• Drive allocation of safety goals to hardware and software components
• Collaborate with PL to influence future semiconductor roadmaps
• Support strategic customer projects from concept to architecture definition
• Represent Infineon in technical workshops, conferences and industry groups
• Contribute to safety manuals, application notes, white papers, and reference designs
• Evaluate emerging safety standards and their impact on humanoid robotics
• Support business development through technical leadership and customer engagement
• Define and implement functional safety diagnostics and safety mechanisms across subsystems
• Ensure end-to-end traceability of safety requirements
• Apply MBSE to develop, analyze and validate system architectures and safety concepts
• Lead cross-functional systems engineering activities to align safety, performance, and product requirements

• Master’s or PhD in relevant engineering fields
• Several years of experience in Functional Safety
• Strong systems engineering mindset
• Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills
• Strong knowledge of Functional Safety principles, methodologies, and standards
• Expertise in Functional Safety Diagnostics and safety analysis techniques
• Background in Systems Engineering including definition, integration, and validation
• Proven experience in Requirements Engineering and management processes
• Understanding of System Architecture design for complex embedded and cyber-physical systems
• Experience developing Safety Concepts at system and component levels
• Proficiency in Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and other safety assessment methods
• Knowledge of MBSE approaches and tools
• Experience ensuring Requirements Traceability throughout product lifecycle
• Experience in Robotics, Industrial Automation, Automotive Functional Safety, Medical Robotics, Autonomous Systems, Safety Certification, AI-enabled robotics, or Safety Software Development
