Tolerancing Lead Engineer (m/f/d)

Overview

In this role you drive tolerancing expertise within Alstom’s Train Architecture domain, ensuring tolerance requirements align with train performance and industrial needs. You will consolidate critical dimensions, perform stack-up analyses, and collaborate with design and industrial teams to embed a strong tolerancing culture. The position offers exposure to cutting-edge railway challenges across cross-functional networks, contributing to greener and smarter mobility. You’ll be a key link between design, manufacturing, and quality, enabling reliable, performant trains.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Specify tolerance requirements to meet train performance and customer expectations
  • Foster strong communication with the Industrial team
  • Support design engineers in their scope
  • Execute complex stack-up calculations (1D and/or 3D)
  • Consolidate all critical dimensional characteristics
  • Collaborate with discipline specialists in the Alstom expert network for improvements and knowledge capitalization
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years in mechanical design, product integration, or dimensional engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) ISO-GPS or ASME Y14.5
  • Proficiency in stack-up calculation (1D/3D)
  • Mastery of technical drawing reading and writing
  • Proficiency with CAD software (CATIA FT&A)
  • Familiarity with dimensional metrology, requirement management, and manufacturing process capability
  • Desirable: knowledge of MECAmaster calculation software
