Business Development Specialist - Biomonitoring (all genders) - BY, BW, NRW

In this field-based role, you drive growth for a cutting-edge microbiological testing and automation portfolio across key German markets. You own a defined territory, build strategic account plans, and pursue new customer acquisition while strengthening existing relationships within pharma and biotech. You will guide technical and commercial stakeholders through high-value capital investments, translating microbiology expertise into business value. You will work cross-functionally to identify opportunities, advance automation solutions, and deliver measurable revenue impact.

• Own and execute a defined territory strategy to acquire new customers and deepen existing relationships
• Position the portfolio as a partner of choice in pharmaceutical and biotech sectors
• Engage with multi-stakeholder groups to guide capital investment decisions with clarity
• Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline targeting long-cycle, high-value deals
• Identify untapped market opportunities and introduce automation/robotics solutions
• Navigate long sales cycles and translate technical value into business outcomes
• Allocate >70% of time to field activities and maintain disciplined territory planning

• 5+ years of field sales in pharmaceutical quality control, production, or related life sciences
• Degree in microbiology, biology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Knowledge of GMP/Annex 1 and cleanroom or aseptic processing environments
• Experience managing high-value, long-cycle capital expenditure sales
• Stakeholder mapping and engagement at management level
• Fluent German (C2) and English (C1)
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel within Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, and North Rhine-Westphalia
• Strong negotiation and communication skills; self-directed, results-oriented
• Familiarity with AI concepts and responsible application in commercial contexts
