Commercial Lead - Data Centre - Cologne

As Commercial Lead in Cologne for a major data centre project, you will steer all commercial activities to keep delivery within approved parameters. You will manage contracts, procurement, and financial reporting while guiding risk and opportunities across the lifecycle. You’ll be the primary commercial interface for the client and project teams, driving clear communication and strong commercial relationships. This role offers leadership on a high-profile European build within a leading contractor, with a strong impact on project success.

• Lead all commercial activities on a major data centre construction project, including budget oversight, forecasting, value tracking, and reporting to stay within commercial limits
• Manage main contracts and subcontracts: negotiation, tender evaluation, award, variations, and ensuring legal and German construction regulation compliance
• Oversee procurement strategy, subcontractor selection, supplier engagement, and timely delivery of goods and services
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, implementing mitigations and advising senior stakeholders
• Act as the main commercial contact for client, project teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and issue resolution
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align commercial decisions with project goals

• 10+ years experience in a similar role on large-scale Data Centre construction projects
