Overview

In this role you support Copernicus mission control operations from Terma in Darmstadt. You will monitor and coordinate daily operations, manage anomalies, and contribute to procedures and tool development for mission control. You work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure nominal system performance and timely responses to incidents. Your work enables reliable space-ground interfaces and supports critical operations under structured on-call arrangements. This is a hands-on, collaborative position in a professional, international environment with opportunities for growth and training.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Schedule and coordinate daily operations
  • Monitor mission control system status and perform daily checks
  • Supervise interfaces to other facilities and ensure nominal performance
  • Raise, investigate, classify and coordinate anomaly resolution (Anomaly Review Boards)
  • Provide on-call support as needed
  • Contribute to design, development, documentation and maintenance of mission control operations procedures
  • Develop and maintain system and ground segment procedures
  • Develop and maintain tools/scripts per operational needs
  • Perform operational validation and coordinate validation test campaigns
  • Update inter-organization documentation (JORP, OICDs, ISA)
  • Prepare for and participate in on-call processes with service manager
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Min. 3 years operating spacecraft control systems using SCOS-2000
  • Min. 3 years developing/maintaining spacecraft mission control systems software
  • Experience in verification and validation of spacecraft mission control systems
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux
  • Experience with Git and SVN
  • Familiarity with ECSS/CCSDS space-to-ground standards (telemetry, telecommand, PUS)
  • Strong written and spoken English communication
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel for trainings/workshops
