Overview

In this role you will design and analyze control systems for robotic actuators, lead cross-disciplinary integration, and drive system-level trade studies. You will build models in MATLAB/Simulink to predict performance and validate approaches, ensuring robust, high-performance motion control across mechanical, electrical, and software domains. You will influence subsystem designs through rigorous analysis, risk assessments, and clear technical artifacts. This is a hands-on, impactful role at the forefront of robotics and automation, shaping how customers receive orders at scale.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Design and analyze control systems for robotic actuators and manipulators (impedance, force, and advanced motion control)
  • Model actuator systems in MATLAB/Simulink to predict performance and validate approaches
  • Develop control architecture and assess stability, bandwidth, and overall performance
  • Design filters, observers, and signal processing to mitigate sensor noise, bandwidth limits, backlash, and saturation
  • Lead cross-functional integration across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
  • Identify system-level trade-offs to optimize across components rather than individual parts
  • Derive performance requirements and allocations for integrated subsystems
  • Perform trade space studies comparing control architectures on performance, cost, complexity, risk, and timeline
  • Lead risk assessments and failure mode analyses for control systems including stability margins and fault tolerance
  • Generate technical artifacts (models, analyses, requirements, test plans) to guide subsystem designs across teams
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Experience developing and testing mechanical robotics equipment
  • Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems
  • Experience with system-modeling techniques and data-processing software (Matlab, Python, or similar)
  • Deep knowledge of electrical-drives systems
  • Knowledge of industry standard design tools and methodologies
  • 5+ years leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
  • Master’s Degree in a related field
