Data Manager / Business Analyst (m/f/d)

In this hybrid role, you bridge business needs with technical delivery within the DDS platform to enrich, store, and distribute publications. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape initiatives, ensure high-quality data services for libraries, platforms, and partners, and drive continuous improvement in data delivery and metadata management. You’ll work across business analysis, agile facilitation, and data operations to support reliable, scalable data flows. This position offers impact in a globally distributed ecosystem and exposure to publishing metadata and data feeds.

• Translate business goals into clear problem statements, user needs, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with the Product Owner
• Analyze and document processes, data flows, and system impacts to support solution discovery
• Facilitate agile ceremonies (refinement, planning, retrospectives) and drive continuous improvement using metrics
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to align initiatives and maintain transparency on progress, risks, and questions
• Manage and maintain metadata and content feeds (e.g., ONIX, XML, MARC) and serve as contact for libraries, archives, and third-party platforms including Amazon, Apple, Google
• Support library consortia and legal deposit processes, configure and operate automated data delivery for regional/international partners
• Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and documentation; define feed rules and standard DDS configurations
• Support migration of data delivery infrastructure (FTP to SFTP, cloud migrations) and set up TDM data feeds; contribute to stability and performance
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and explore AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency in analysis and operations

• Experience in Business Analysis, Data Management, or similar roles in a technical or data-driven environment
• Experience in agile environments with strong communication and stakeholder management
• Hands-on experience with metadata, data feeds, or data delivery systems; understanding of XML, XSLT, and system integrations
• SQL knowledge (basic to intermediate) and familiarity with ONIX, MARC, or OAI
• Ability to drive clarity in complex situations and deliver high-quality outcomes
• Fluency in English; German communication skills desirable for partner interaction
