Overview

In this role you build, operate, and improve applications to deliver fast value for the business. You will support and advise global IT teams on platform usage, aligning technical work with organizational goals. You work across software engineering, system design, database design, and integration to create scalable solutions. The role emphasizes emerging technologies, architecture thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will help drive technology roadmaps and ensure high-quality implementations with a clear impact on operations and analytics.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Specialist advice: stay current in one or more specializations and apply them to planning and operations; collaborate with other specialists to tailor advice to the organization’s needs.
Emerging technology monitoring: monitor external tech trends, assess potential impacts, threats, and opportunities; contribute to technology roadmaps and knowledge sharing.
Programming/software engineering: design, code, test, and document complex programs and integration services; guide project approaches (predictive or agile).
System design: design components using architecture standards, evaluate options, model or prototype behaviors, produce detailed design specs.
Database design: develop and maintain database and data warehouse concepts; implement physical designs and BI analytics support.
Testing: define tests, design test cases, map to criteria, analyze and report results; identify risks and issues.
Knowledge, skills & abilities: strong database knowledge, cloud experience (AWS/Azure), platform experience (Oracle, SQL Server, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, DocumentDB), basic security concepts, performance tuning, Linux/Windows, automation interest, collaboration and communication; certifications a plus.
Systems integration and build: define modules, build and test integration software, configure environments, and produce integration test specs and reports.
Porting/software configuration: configure software versions for platforms; test and propose improvements.
Service level management: monitor service delivery against SLAs and identify actions to improve.
Release and deployment: manage builds, tests, and coordination with testers and experts; maintain release processes.
People management (if required): potential involvement in hiring decisions and creating a supportive, development-focused environment.

Zentrale Anforderungen

Strong database concepts and technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, and specialized databases).
Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure); networking, monitoring, HADR, replication, backup/recovery, and migrations.
Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, or DocumentDB.
Basic understanding of DB security (encryption, access management, auditing).
Experience in SQL performance tuning and resource optimization; Linux/Windows Server in database contexts.
Interest in automation, emerging tech, and AI-driven adoption.
Collaborative team player with good communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
Relevant certifications in database and/or cloud technologies are a plus.
Minimum 5 years in IT; 2 years in a relevant area; 1 year in team management; English proficiency.
